1. Open the "QuickLook ƒ" inside it are three icons the "QuickLook Shipper" program, a folder called "Files", and a folder called "Western USA Intl".
To find its reference and rate chart files, QuickLook Shipper will always look in the same folder in which it resides for a folder called "Files" that contains a folder called "Blank" . Be very careful that you never move or rename the "Files" folder or the "Blank" folder.
2. If you live in the Western USA then you will need to open the "Western USA Intl" folder and drag the four files into the "Blank" folder letting them replace the ones that are there. If you live in the Eastern USA then just throw the "Western USA Intl" folder in the trash.
3. If you are running on System 6.09 or below skip this step. System 7.00 (or above) users click once on the "QuickLook Shipper" icon. Go up to the File menu and choose "make alias". This will cause a file to be created. Rename the alias ( the file name will be in italics) to "! QuickLook". Drag the "! QuickLook" icon into the System folder then into the Apple Menu Items folder. Then close all of the folders. This will let you open "QuickLook Shipper" by just selecting it under the Apple menu.
4. Double click on the "QuickLook Shipper" icon. When the QuickLook USA screen comes up choose "Handling Charges" from the "UPS" menu. Fill in the handling charges information for your company. Hit the Done button when finished.
(Note: if you do not charge any handling charges choose the "Fixed Rate" button and set the amount to 0.00.)
Help is available under the Apple menu.
5. Get out your "UPS Zone Chart" that you received from UPS. Choose "Edit Zip Code Chart" from the UPS menu. Any zip codes or zones that do not agree with your local chart just double click on and change. Delete any extras or add new one if you need to.
We would have made this chart for you but it seem that these charts are completely controlled by the local offices of UPS and the national office did not have one that was 100% correct.
6. Choose "Edit Alaska Cities Chart" from the UPS menu. Verify that these entries are the same as the city list on the back or your UPS Zone Chart.
7. That's it. Everything should be ready for you to start enjoying the QuickLook Shipper. No changes should be needed for any of the International Cities and zones (unless UPS adds a few new ones).
8. Get your registration mailed. UPS has changed things three times since December. We can not notify you of changes if you are not registered.
